This past week was a flurry of Harvest decorating. Not only did we do the outdoor planters for several clients, we also included a few snips of leaves and branches when styling indoors. Fresh arrangements make a home look pretty and cared for. Debbie and I carry garden snippers in our tool box and many times run out to clip branches, lilacs, or whatever’s in season.
When doing outdoor planters, we like to combine artificial items with bits and pieces from nature. Another thing we like to do in our Autumn planters, is create a base layer that works for both the Fall and Winter season. This way when it’s time to decorate for the holidays, there’s a base of green already in place. Simply remove the pumpkins/Autumn leaves and replace with holiday decorations.
These are our favourite electric candles which work on batteries and have a five hour built in timer. You might remember them from the blog I wrote on Fall Style (here). Try using them outdoors on a front porch. They look so amazing.

Fall is such a beautiful time of the year. I love to add a few festive touches to my home inside and out. It makes me feel good to pull into the driveway and see the outside decorated just a little. It helps me get over the end of summer.
Have time for a little more reading this week? Check out last years Thanksgiving post on 10 Things we are Grateful For.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. See you next week.
