It’s true what they say, the time goes by in the blink of an eye.
One moment they’re babes in arms, and then all of a sudden, they’re all grown up. It’s hard to believe that it goes by so quickly.
When you’re in the midst of it, there are some days that seem to last forever. And don’t forget about the nights. Those sleepless, endless nights…that went on and on and on.
And any good parent will tell you, there are days when you just can’t wait for them to grow up and be on their own – especially during the teenage years.
But it’s the good times we hang on to and cherish. Those moments so precious and sweet, that they have their own special corner in our hearts. Busy with life, we barely realize that each day, little by little, our babies are growing away from us. We get used to separations when they go off to school, or travel Europe on their own. Us mothers take comfort in the fact that the place our child still calls home, is the home they (sometimes) share with us.
But then that bittersweet day comes. The day when they are so grown up, that they are ready for a home of their own. It’s what we prepare them for, it’s the way it’s suppose to be. We’re happy for them, but for us, it feels like something’s been torn from us. And in a way, it has.
Debbie had her bittersweet moment this Boxing Day. Her Taylor was moving to a beautiful downtown condo. This would now be her home.
Not one to sit around, Debbie swung into designer mode. The two of them plotted and planned, wrote lists, shopped, kijijied and got it all together. Here are the pictures to tell the story…
Congratulations to Taylor on her downtown condo.
If you’re feeling the January decorating bug, get in touch and we can talk about your project.
