Design Features
Designing a new kitchen allowed us to prioritize function. Yes we removed the sunshine ceiling and lightened up the space, but it was the large work island, the eating bar that allows tv viewing and the comfy dining chairs that really made a lifestyle difference.
Removing a linen closet and soaker tub allowed for installation of a large roomy shower. Double sinks with custom cabinetry solved all storage issues. Finishes were kept neutral and clean lined which enhanced the sleekness of the space.
At the front of the home was the formal living and dining rooms. These rooms weren’t being used enough, and what really was needed was a place to host a weekly music group and a cosy reading spot. Guitars were hung, furniture was selected to allow for easy movement when the musicians assembled and for reading, a comfortable chair and ottoman were situated near the large window.
